Shoson is the name that the artist Koson used later in his life. KOSON (Shoson) is especially noted for his nature subjects like birds and animals (ie. Rabbits). Rabbits are frequently depicted with the moon in Japanese art. Instead of a “man in the moon” a “rabbit in the moon” is seen. KOSON (Shoson) – Rabbits in Moonlight is one of his best of this subject
